Description:Comunilife is a premier provider of housing, mental health, and HIV/AIDS services in New York City. Our programs benefit more than 2,500 people each year helping them overcome challenges related to extreme poverty; chronic homelessness; serious behavioral and medical issues; and, linguistic and acculturation barriers.

Our staff members work with a supportive team of supervisors and peers, receive in-depth training and ongoing opportunities for professional development, and, are part of an organization that recognizes, celebrates, and promotes personal and cultural strengths.
Duties:Continually monitors the front door, check all incoming/out coming traffic of clients, visitors and staff. Ensure clients log in and out and that incidents and activity is documented and that facility and outside courtyards are patrolled frequently or as scheduled. This includes halls, stairs, and public bathrooms. Clear public areas of loitering residents and attend mandated in-service training programs and meetings
Qualifications:8 or 16 hour certificate required. Working knowledge of principles and practices of a New York State licensed Security Guard. Responsible, organized, effective, punctual and efficient with ability to perform within a team and accomplish multiple assignments simultaneously. Skills to communicate effectively in writing and verbally required as well as ability to listen actively. Must be able to deal tactfully and diplomatically with other employees, Federal, State, and City officials, professional and technical groups, clients, and the general public. High School diploma preferred with at least one or two years of experience in security. Experience with HIV/AIDS afflicted individuals, chronic mental illness, substance abuse population a plus. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
