NY State Office of Mental Health (OMH) Bronx Program Director


The Program Director oversees the daily operations of a scatter site, supported housing program for 252 adults with serious mental illness. The Program Director ensures that initial assessments of referred clients are completed and new clients are placed in appropriate housing. The Program Director has overall responsibility for ensuring that staff makes monthly home visits and links clients to medical, mental health, substance abuse and other community services as needed.
Duties:The Program Director supervises 2 Clinical Supervisors, each of whom manages a team of case managers, and 1 Administrative Assistant. The Program Director develops and maintains professional relationships with landlords, government agencies and other service providers and represents the agency at various community meetings.
We are looking for an energetic, dynamic and dependable leader, with excellent communication, interpersonal and critical thinking skills, who will support and inspire our staff and ensure that our clients are receiving all the services they need in order to maintain their housing.
Qualifications:• MSW degree, preferably LMSW or LCSW, or a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology;
• Three (3) years of post-graduate work experience with adults with serious mental illness;
• Five (5) years of supervisory experience in a scatter site (preferably) or congregate housing program;
• Experience with individuals with substance abuse disorders is a plus;
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is also a plus.
