Description: | Responsible for the receiving, storing, serving food to residents and maintaining a clean environment for a congregate transitional housing facility. Required to cover meals, including weekends. Other responsibilities include working harmoniously with Comunilife Program staff in accordance with Comunilife principles and guidelines.

Duties: | Including and not limited to the following:
- Receive the delivery of meals.
- Maintain and check temp in refrigerators and warming trays
- Serve residents’ meals
- Clean dining room and service areas
- Prepare and provide snacks
- Maintain inventory |
Qualifications: | Minimum requirements include Qualifying Certificate in Food Protection, given by The City of NY, DOH 15 hour training course in Food Protection. Prefer a High School/GED diploma with at least one year of experience in food handling, or healthcare field. Experience with HIV/AIDS afflicted individuals, chronic mental illness, substance abuse individuals, a plus. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
Physical Demands
Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-20 pounds).
Certifications & Licenses Required:
City of New York, Dept of Health & Mental Hygiene, Qualifying Certificate in Food Protection. Prefer High School/GED diploma.
Current annual PPD (Tuberculosis) Exam Required.
