|Description:||Responsible for the receiving, storing, serving food to residents and maintaining a clean environment for a congregate housing facility for people living with HIV/AIDS, severe and persistent mental illness, and substance abuse.|
-Community minded, patient, creative, flexible, compassionate, and culturally sensitive to persons who are diagnosed with HIV+/AIDS, severe and persistent mental illness or substance abuse individuals.
-Working knowledge of principles and practices of a Qualifying Certificate in Food Protection, the Programs- house rules or guidelines, and the Comunilife Employee Manual.
-Responsible, organized, effective and efficient. Ability to perform within a team and accomplish multiple assignments simultaneously.
-Skill to communicate effectively in writing, vocally, and to listen actively.
-Ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with other Comunilife employees, Federal, State, and City officials, professional and technical groups, clients, and the general public.
|Qualifications:||REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS: |
-Qualifying Certificate in Food Protection, given by The City of NY,
-DOH 15 hour training course in Food Protection.
Prefer a High School/GED diploma with at least one year of experience in food handling, or healthcare field.
-Experience with HIV/AIDS afflicted individuals, chronic mental illness, substance abuse individuals, a plus.
-Bilingual skills in English/Spanish is preferred.
-Tasks some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-20 pounds).
